The paper shows that the skills of Luxembourg's eighth-grade students, both in the computer and information literacy and in computational thinking, rank below the international average. Numerous projects, tools and educational approaches on education in Luxembourg are presented in this publication. Among other, the paper reflects on Luxembourg's education system in view of difficulties that are faced by pupils (1) who come from socio-economically disadvantaged households, (2) who do not speak any of the teaching languages at home, or (3) who attend one of the two streams comprised in the Enseignement secondaire général (general secondary education - ESG).
