Learners' needs

,

The material offers different learning paths and tasks for the same subject. It starts of with an
introduction about the topic and its key information’s. The learning material provides pictures and their sources according to the current subject. Also provided are interactive tasks with advancing difficulty. Example: You can sort different historical events to the according countries on a map.

The material offers different options of scaffoldings. You can get various tips before you can look up the solution/ part of the solution. With an increasing level of learning the tips grow in complexity and its harder to skip to the solution itself.

Sadly, the learning material is not as inclusive as it could be. You can ́t select the option for an audio guide or anything regarding disabilities.

The platform prides themselves with the adaption to the individual learner. It has a whole section, where the creators explain the different opportunities of there open educational resources.

Learners’ environment(s)

The materiel can be used in group work. The teaching person is able to create a classroom on the website in which they can assign different tasks to individual groups and/ or individual students. Because the material ́s complexity varies from task to task the teacher can assign the work accordingly. It ́s also possible to incorporate the website into your exam studying process, as it ́s also a great way for testing your own knowledge.

Because the learning materiel is mainly focused on digital interactive tasks, there is barely any way to transform it into a physical copy. It can, however, be used on nearly any device with internet connection. There is the option to print it out and create interactive tasks with scissors and glue. For example, the teaching person can print out a map and the students can cut out and glue the events that happened to the according county.

Due to the material being a website, its not accessible in any other format than the URL.

Learning Feedback for Learners

5

,

The material offers different kinds of feedback. It guides you through the prosses of finding your answers with useful tips and corrects your final answers accordingly. It also gives you pointers to improve your answer and to learn the material more effectively.

The feedback can help the children and or adults to reflect on their work. It offers better structured and well- informed corrections to further improve the learning experience. The material provides visuals that can be sorted to the according tasks, so individuals that respond better to visual learning also have an opportunity to improve.

Learners’ Reflections on Learning

3

,

Even though the material is very interactive, it does not provide alternative strategies or techniques to offer a different approach to conquer the given tasks. In most cases it is very straight forward and simple in its complexion.

The material always states to recheck your answers and change them to match your process. It does always encourage to reflect through little pop ups.

Learners’ Agency

3

,

The material offers many different tasks to learn the information that you need. It adapts to your learning process and saves your last “checkpoint”, so that you can return to it whenever you need.

Because of the option to safe your process you can control your workload and the speed in which you want to work on the material.

It encourages the user to reflect on their own answers but sadly not on the material itself.

By including stories from different cultures, nations, and minority groups, it provides a more complete and balanced view of history, which is refreshing compared to the usual focus on Western history .
